User defined Group and Sort option
Could you allow the user to create their own group? eg. 'Olympics', 'Georgian War', 'Economy', 'Funny News', etc. This could be implemented with a right-click entry: "Customize new group" and another entry to add any page you want into this newly customized group. This will let the user... more
Status: completedVersion 2.0.0 has a "group by source tab (IE8)" feature that functions the same as grouping in IE8. Groups are essentially custom, can easily drag tabs in and out, ungroup, etc.
The other grouping/sorting options rely on a property of the tab such as hostname. You can freely move & regroup the tabs in these scenarios as well, though the tab will be considered "out of order" in these cases and indicated thusly.
Currently custom groups don't mix with the property based grouping/sortings. If this is truly desired / still relevant in this new version, make a new idea. :)

when will the version for 3.5 be available?
when will the version for 3.5 be available?
Status: completedAvailable now:
http://bitbucket.org/chrisgalpin/group-sort-tabs/downloads/
It's a pre-release, not perfectly polished and ready for addons.mozilla.org, but soon. The pre-release supports automatic updates though, and will update itself all the way to the full release. ;)

Have you tried Tab Kit? Still find Group/Sort tabs useful?
Honestly this extension was created prior to the knowledge of the existence of another extension which groups, sorts, collapses & expands, all very well.
It's a little discouraging to continue work on this extension. I'd be interested in your input as to what need this extension could still ... more
Status: completedThanks for this feedback back in the day guys. Group/Sort tabs definitely has a place now. :)

Camifox
I suggest you to improve compatibility with camifox theme that looks awesome with ColorfulTabs enabled.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7527There isn't displayed any seperator width.
Would like to see this 'cause firefox' standard theme is ugly.Status: completedSeems fine with the newer 2.0.0 versions, probably due to adding color, etc. Seems good. :)

New Tab (Ctrl+T) bug w/ sorting in default/non-reverse order
With the following settings I have experienced an issue when opening a new tab (i.e., with Ctrl+T).
[X] Enable (ticked/checked)
Group tabs by: "Hostname (G)"
Separator width: "0"
Sort tabs by: "hostname"
[_] Reverse direction (unticked/unchecked)When the new tab ... more
Status: completedI believe an incompatibility with the DownThemAll! extension is what causes this issue.
I think it's gone now... due to my changes or 3.5 or what I do not know.

Disable doesn't work + manual sorting?
When i de-select the enable button in order to disable the sorting function it doesn't seem to work, instead tabs are still automatically sorted after a certain amount of time.
Could this be because i have over 200 tabs open?
I'd love to be able to simple manually select when to sort - for exam... more
Status: completedDisabled sorting is implemented.

Need ability to manually move tab where I want
Option to override the preset sorting order.
Status: completedWorking with disabled sorting AND with sorting enabled, tabs moved out of the sort order get a little marking with context menu option to return them to their original sorted position if so desired.

add shortcuts for sort methods
Tab bar context menu commands for quickly changing the sorting method.
These same commands could also do quick one-time sorts in the situation that you prefer to leave automatic sorting disabled.
These commands would have associated and customizable keyboard hotkeys.
A little icon near the tab... more
